“We cant be naïve about the
wilderness; it’s a dangerous place. But we must never avoid the
wilderness; it’s a wonderful place...Wilderness is a context, not an
agenda.”
Eugene
Peterson
In 1994, I began photographing the
outdoors and wildlife. I was rased in Colorado and have never
been able to escape the deep inner connection that exists between
man and the wild. Though I have not lived there for many years now,
I return several times each year in search of myself. The
mountains and streams, snow and rocks, and all the grandure of
nature reconnect me to God and to myself. Photography has become a
way of saving those moments and memories, captured for ever on
a piece of paper or (especially now) in a digital file. Here in the
pages of this web site are my memories, my special places,
adventures and people that like a pen have written upon my
heart the story of life the way it should be.

Our busy and
often chaotic lives leave little room for the soul to breath, for
the heart to feel alive. We, like machines, go through the motions
of each day missing some part of ourselves, loosing pieces of who we
were meant to be with each stroke of the hour hand. The wild and
untamed nature of our world gives us a glimps into the deepest
pleasures of life, they speak in words too subtle for the passerby,
too quiet for the frenzied tourist. In order to hear the wilderness
voice one must find solitude and distance themselves from the chaos.
I have ventured into the wild many, many time over the past 15 years
and never once have I returned home the same.
While much could be said of
equipment and quality, resolution and pixels, the real desire of my
heart for those who visit this sight is that they will be inspired
to venture into the wild and listen to as well as see what creation
is echoing to your soul.
I hope that you will be inspired
to look through a different mind set when you see the sun rising in
the morning, or a flower blooming or the snow falling. I hope you
will look seeing the wonderful gift of God.
